EXPECTATION
Luke 1:5-20, Luke 1:26-45 & Habakkuk 2:2
FOCAL SCRIPTURE: LUKE 1:45 – “Blessed is she who believed for there will be a Performance -Fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”
Write the vision…Write what you see declares the Lord! Make it plain so that it is kept before you continuously while you’re on your journey for surely there will be a performance of the very thing promised to you. Yes, everything that was told to you from the Lord, wait on it - there is an appointed time.
This is a season of great expectation! Many of you are pregnant with great vision, eagerly awaiting the manifestation of that which God has promised. I believe your expectation - a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future is imminent.
When I think of the purpose and vision the people of God are carrying on the inside and the subsequent expectation of birthing that comes along with it, I think of Mary the mother of Jesus. Like you and I, Mary was pregnant with great purpose, promise and destiny. Not only was she expecting to birth a child, she was expecting much more for God had sent the angel Gabriel to raise her level of expectation.
God is still elevating the expectations of His people and He is increasing in us daily both to will and to do for His great pleasure! So I encourage you to come on up to a supernatural level of hope and expectation in a faithful God.
God equipped Mary to believe and the bible declares in Luke 1:45 that Mary was blessed because she believed the word of the Lord concerning her purpose and future.
I want to focus on waiting expectantly on the promise(s) of God.
2 PROMISES (Both for an appointed time)
Time is defined as the indefinite continued progress of existence and events in the past, present, and future regarded as a whole. It is imperative that we understand time! God’s timing is perfect as He works in times and seasons to manifest His plan.
That which God has purposed for your life was purposed from the beginning. He isn’t slack concerning His promises and He isn’t struggling with finding a way to bring them to pass. He only needs our obedience in the wait.
2 DIFFERENT RESPONSES (Zacharias didn’t believe & Mary believed)
Zacharias questioned the promise
Mary believed the promise
Your response will determine how you wait. Zacharias and Mary had two very different experiences while they waited on the promise to be fulfilled. One moved forward in anticipation, vision and expectation and the other was silenced while God taught him a thing or two… (Smile)
Beloved, the promise of God doesn’t change but our journey to the promise will be impacted based upon the words coming from our heart and proceeding out of our mouths. Our actions must align with our belief that we shall see that which the Lord has shown and spoken.
Mary expected God to do something! What about you? Do you really expect God to what He told you? If your answer is yes, simply surrender to Him and his timing. Get in His presence and commune with Him. Here you will find peace, comfort, strength and instructions.
